IMASBLUE’s centres in Madrid and Barcelona, connected in real time

IMASBLUE has once and for all eliminated the problem of physical space from the process of integrated audio and visual postproduction. We have integrated into our working methods the latest system of inter-centre communication, which combines the transmission of images in JPEG 2000 format and videoconferencing, thus eliminating the physical distance that separates Madrid and Barcelona.

Now, anything that is being done by the team in one centre is immediately accessible to the other. There is absolutely no delay, even in the reproduction of visual effects or films of the highest production quality, thanks to the real-time connection of the two studios by means of optical fibre cable and the great benefits which JPEG 2000 offers. The system also allows SD or HD signal to be used depending on requirements.

It means that any postproduction process can be supervised as it is being done. By connecting the studios by means of videoconferencing, IMASBLUE has made working from a distance just as effective as actually being there.

With this new service, you have available to you the whole range of services of our centres in the easiest possible way. You can participate live in the postproduction process of your project without needing to be physically in the same city as our technicians and team. Having direct contact with the technicians by means of one screen and being able to immediately see the results of their work on another allows you to monitor their work and see the results of any adjustments you may request instantly. Just like being there.

Imasblue and El Colorado join forces

El Colorado will look after exclusively all the Telecine / Color  operational work of Imasblue Madrid offices.

Imasblue and El colorado will share the same place in Madrid at Alcalá street.  This joint is an ambitious project first step of creating a common audiovisual area linked to the  advertising, film and television world.

The general idea is try  to bring together under the same  roof  various companies related to the post production world  creating  an environment of collaboration between them.  All together  can  offered to the industry different options for all the  audiovisual development process phases.

The companies that make this audiovisual  environment will remain independent and each one will operate and manages its business by their own.  This common place project will start with Imasblue and El Colorado, both company will collaborate together with the common agreement  where Imasblue will outsource its Madrid Color correction department to El Colorado. El colorado will continue offering its regular services to their formers customers and also will be the Color grading department for Imasblue.

On the other hand Imasblue will continue giving color grading services with the  El  colorado's colorist operating at the same Alcalá Building. With this  deal We are adding new values to Imasblue's works  and El Colorado, respectively.

This project  will start with Imasblue and El Colorado waiting to join other companies in order to increase the  services  supply  that   may involve new partnerships which can help to  establish a media center that combines independence with operating capacity

Un lugar donde vivir. Program Identity for Castilla La Mancha Television

Zeligstudio recently designed and produced the identity for "Un Lugar Donde Vivir" by the audiovisual producer, El Torreón del Sol, to be broadcast on regional television of Castilla La Mancha. This is a 60-minute program structured into proximity reports, whose protagonists are  inhabitants of towns with populations under 100 located in this autonomous community in Spain.
The identity intends to reproduce the peaceful life of these towns through the recreation of a series of typical scenes depicting miniature-sized characters and elements.
These scenes were shot with macro photography techniques to further enhance the air of unreality and magic of the piece in general.

Kike Maíllo most recent film "EVA" got 12 Goya nominations.

IMASBLUE has done the compositing for more than 200 VFX and has been the main place where the process to put together  all the visual effect took place supervised by Jordi San Agustín.

 

The film, produced by Escándalo films, got among other nominations best make-up, best editing, best sound, best VFX, best male main character for Daniel Bruhl and Kike Maíllo as best New Director.

 

From IMASBLUE we would like to send to the whole team congratulations and wish them the best for this Year Goya Ceremony.

Televisión Española / News

News program identity. Rebranding of the news programs Telediario, La2Noticias, los Desayunos and Centros Territoriales, creating graphic systems that are more in tune with the current corporate identity of the channels, with new formulas of displaying information and making better use of the 16/9 space of the screen.
The new identity creates distance from geometric shapes such as the square and moves towards more "organic" and aerodynamic forms, searching out parallelism with the continuity graphic developments. It has generated a system of signage that presents greater versatility and heightened three-dimensionality.
The headers are based on a sequence of shots showing an open space where the news items are generated, like a metaphor for today's information world. Each sequence is produced by a series of three-dimensional layers that "accumulate" forming shaped volumes with "architecturally" soft forms, organic, that convey a futuristic concept, global and technological, just like the news, like a wave emission.
In this new era, music evolves while maintaining some of the main features of their identity, enhancing the brand value.
The system of logos for TD, LD and La2N has been redesigned and is based on a common system of straight and curved forms that produce the typographies of each brand, which give coherence to all the signage.

The first spot of the year finishes postproduction in Imasblue.

In its latest television campaign, created by McCann Erikson, CAMPOFRÍO pays tribute to the maestro of humour, Gila. Both the 150” and 60” versions, directed by Álex de la Iglesia, were produced by La Joya Producciones, and the complete postproduction process was done by the Madrid office of Imasblue.

The spot Cómicos appeared on Facebook, the social network site, before being broadcast on TV and within a few hours of its first transmission had created significant impact, becoming that same day a Trending Topic on Twitter. The director, Álex de la Iglesia, points out that the campaign was thought of in terms of being a mini film and its primary objective was to highlight the value of the Spanish sense of humour in troubled times. “Friends, when facing pain what we always have is a smile; this is something immense.”

Taking part in the campaign are the most famous Spanish comedians of all time such as: Martes y 13, Esteso y Pajares, las hermanas Hurtado and newer faces such as: Chiquito de la Calzada, Los Morancos, Juan Luis Cano –Gomaespuma-, Anabel Alonso, Toni Antonio, Santiago Segura and Florentino Fernández amongst others.

Now with Imasblue the Digital Emission Copy goes straight ahead to the television channels.

IMASBLUE, together with the other leading postproduction studios in Spain, has installed the innovative Spots4Media (S4M) system, a service which allows for the digital distribution of advertising campaigns. As of now, for advertisers to deliver spots to TV stations, all they need to do is to connect to the network.
S4M converts the master postproduction copy into all formats required by the media plan. The whole process is done by Internet. In this way all that TV stations need to do is access the network and download the material required and broadcast it. At any time, any user can revise the situation of the audiovisual files in order to check them or monitor their progress. The operating system, developed by Ericsson, means that advertisers, media agencies and TV stations can share the same space in an efficient and safe environment. The system increases the ease and efficiency of distribution, reducing effort to an absolute minimum without losing anything in terms of broadcast quality.
In addition to being a completely digital process, the system puts an end to the need for innumerable video tapes, whose residues are a source of environmental pollution. For all these reasons S4M is the best solution for today’s advertising environment.

Imasblue and Álex de la Iglesia in “La chispa de la vida” (“The spark of life”).

Álex de la Iglesia has placed his confidence in Imasblue for the complete postproduction work for his latest film, “La Chispa de la Vida” (“The spark of life”). The renowned director of “El Día de la Bestia” (The Day of the Beast”) and “La Comunidad” (“Common Wealth”), this time tells the story of an unemployed advertising employee who has a terrible accident. In desperation the protagonist tries to make his situation into a TV show.

The film stars the comedian José Mota and the Hollywood star Selma Hayek. The cast list also includes well-known faces from Spanish cinema, such as: Santiago Segura, Fernando Tejero, Juan Luis Galiardo and Juanjo Puigcorbé.

All the postproduction image work, from colour correction to film transfer and the VFX, was done by Imasblue. This is not the first time Álex de la Iglesia has worked with us, having done so already on his previous film, “Balada triste de trompeta” (“The Last Circus”), whose digital effects won a Goya. “La Chispa de la Vida” (“The Spark of Life”), co-produced with Double Nickel Entertainment and Trivisión S.L., opens in cinemas on the 13th of January.

IMASBLUE finishes the postproduction work for “Promoción Fantasma” (“Ghost Graduation”).

IMASBLUE has finished the postproduction image work for the new Javier Ruiz Caldera, “Promoción Fantasma” (“Ghost Graduation”). This is another collaboration with Ismablue for the director who used the same team for the complete postproduction process on his previous film, “Spanish Movie”.

A comedy, the film tells the story of the efforts of a professor with paranormal powers to help five ghosts, who hadn’t graduated before they died, to pass their last year and so be able to leave school. It was produced by Mod Producciones, with the collaboration of, amongst others, Televisión Española and Canal+.

Ismablue followed the shooting of the film in great detail to ensure the correct development of the work required in postproduction. The team, managed by Jordi San Agustín in charge of postproduction, made it all possible. Over a period of two months, all of the digital effects required by a script full of fantasy elements were completed, with a final total of 150 VFX shots. Starring Raúl Arévalo, Alexandra Jiménez, and Andrea Duro, it opens in cinemas on Feburary 3rd.

Rock in Rio Channel identity

Zeligstudio designs and creates two idents for Neox, the thematic channel belonging to Antena 3 Group, to promote the music festival Rock in Rio, one of the most important festivals in the world that the channel exclusively broadcasts for its programming.

We created a small campaign to convey 'the magic of the moment', that culminating instant of emotional bonding between live music and body movement. The pieces are issued to promote the special program of last year's event, with performances by Katy Perry, Shakira, Metallica and others.
